There's something about a face in old silver that makes you stop and wonder.
Who was she meant to be?
We'll probably never know, and that's part of what makes this piece so fascinating.
This ring has been created from the handle of a sterling silver spoon by Simmons & Payne, dating to the early 1900s.
At its centre is a beautifully detailed woman's face framed by flowing hair and scrolls. More than a century later, every feature remains beautifully preserved.
The original spoon handle has been reshaped into a ring, the design to sits across the finger while keeping all the character of the original silver intact.
It's the sort of piece people notice not because it's loud, but because it carries a story.
